A modern apartment block on the side of a body of water

Ahead of the 7th May elections, The Property Institute (TPI) has published its Manifesto for Wales 2026, in Welsh and English.

The manifesto sets out key policy priorities for the next Welsh Government,  focused on raising standards in housing, building safety and sustainability in shared residential homes across Wales.

Manifesto Asks:

  • Higher standards and competence in building management, with a stronger focus on professionalism, qualifications, and accountability
  • The implementation of the new building safety regime, alongside quicker and more consistent remediation of unsafe buildings
  • Improved access to energy efficiency upgrades in multi-occupied buildings through legislation, funding support, and mandatory reserve funds to reduce emissions and long-term costs.

With a new Government on the horizon, there is a clear opportunity to shape an agenda that delivers safer, better managed, and more sustainable homes. TPI is committed to working collaboratively with policymakers and members to achieve this.
